Do you know where you’re going?
Lucky me, my wife is a fitness nut. She started running about ten years ago and now can say that she is a runner. She has completed the Boston Marathon, numerous Triathlons and is working on Half Iron Mans. She has been using the Garmin Forerunner 305 for training. This is a very cool device that tracks your full workouts. Anyway, she got me one for the holidays last year.

I am totally addicted to this thing. God help me if I forget to set it as I feel the workout is voided. I am a member of a site called Motionbased.com which helps me record, track, analyze and measure workouts. This thing is also a GPS so generally speaking I don’t get lost. Notice I said “generally”. The workouts under “Idol Times” will allow you to see the routes I ride and how I did. Things like pace, average speed, heart rate etc..
Another really cool thing is that you can down load the GPS coordinates from any of the routes by clicking on “Export” in the summary window. By the way, if you have Google Earth you can do some really cool things with the routes.
Ok, ok, I know… I am such a geek!
